Getting down to business!

Welcome to my first blogpost :)

This is my online journal about my experiances doing the famous Atkins diet. In a nutshell it is low carb, high protein with four levels- induction 20g net carbs daily for 2 weeks- ongoing weight loss, pre maintenence and maintenence. While there are many low carb diets and plans out there i felt this one was worth giving a go as i have read and heard and seen so many wonderful success stories, (and i didnt wana give up tasty food).

I am by no means obese or anything like that but i have had afew of those body savagers that we all know and love being children and i would like to get my post baby size and tone back- this is where protein comes in handy. I am about 5’5″ and 65 kgs atm and my goal weight is 52kgs, so the rest has gotta go and hopefully Atkins knows its stuff.

Naturally i start with the induction- no more than 20g carbs daily and no sugar:

It is 5:50 pm right now and my food consumption today has been,

Breakfast:

  • 1 slice bacon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of mushrooms
  • 2 fried tomatoes

10.8g net carbs(8.6gms just from the tomatos!)-

Lunch:

  • 1 EAS carb control bar = 4g net carbs
  • 1 protein shake made from Horleys sculpt powder 1.1g BUT i made it with soy milk so that adds 7.2g

aaand the grand total so far is………….23.1gms

I use the Atkins carb counter, heres a link www.Atkins.com/carb-counter

Ok so thats not too bad, before i would have easily polished off toast for brekkie, sammies for lunch and pasta for dinner so its gotta be good for me im thinking…anyways if i just have chicken or something now with no carbs for dinner i will be fine…

Update: I managed to have some roast chicken and a green tea for dinner, i dont even miss anything, i feel full and not deprived, this is awesome :)
